Why Fortitude ?
As a child, I played in dozens of tournaments. Some days I won; other days, I lost terribly. There were moments when I stayed calm and composed, and others when a single loss broke my heart.
I have had my fair share of good and bad experiences.
Now, these very experiences have shaped me into the person I am today. I can take my wins and stay grounded. I can lose myself in difficult situations and have the courage to get back up and keep living my life.
Chess has wired a kind of thinking in me which helps me prepare for the best and worst situations.
Now, this is what I want to pass on to my students.
Yes, ratings, progress, and performance all matter. But at Fortitude, I want to provide lessons that help build a strong, resilient, and compassionate character in every child.
